A Royal Little Pest: Mine! Selected by Nelson Education Ltd. as a Read-Aloud for Nelson Literacy Kindergarten’s new national program (curriculum-based Lesson Plans created)!Selected by Nelson Education Ltd. as a Read-Aloud for Nelson Literacy Kindergarten’s new national program (curriculum-based Lesson Plans created)!

Award-winning author Anita Reynolds MacArthur is comfortable presenting in a classroom, library, auditorium, or gymnasium. Her background in education is evident as she discusses the importance of literacy and how it relates to students’ everyday lives. Anita follows a reading of one of her books with a discussion surrounding the elements of a story (character, plot, setting) and uses hardcopy manuscript to demonstrate how a story goes from rough copy to final copy. A brief insight into the world of publishing, as well as a question and answer period, close each presentation. Anita presents to students from JK/SK through to grade 8.

Anita and Karen visited our school on April 14 and their presentations entertained both students and teachers alike! All students from grades 1 to 8 were invited to attend...and if scheduling had permitted I know that the JK and SK classes would truly have enjoyed it as well. The ladies adapted their presentations to meet the interest levels of all of the grades, with the motivational message that their success in this endeavor developed through co-operation and dedication to their dreams. The PowerPoint portion of the event further captivated all of the audience.

Thank you for a most enjoyable day!

They were both very engaging, entertaining and educational. They kept the students interested and involved with a reading and a visual presentation about the graphic illustrations used in the book. I would definitely recommend them!"
